From the Well is the annual short story competition organised by Cork County Library and Arts Service. Twenty stories are shortlisted by Patrick Holloway for publication in the From the Well anthology. Róisín Ní Chonaill, the winner of the competition, Alexandra Tyndale, second place, and Seán McNicholl, third place will read their stories in this event hosted by author and editor Patrick Holloway.

 

Admission: Free

Róisín Ní Chonaill‘s short story ‘Bó’ won the 2026 From the Well Short Story Competition and this anthology is her first time being published.

 

Alexandra Tyndale’s short story ‘Daisy Chains’ was awarded second place.

 

Seán McNicholl‘s short story ‘Help me Jesus ‘was awarded third place.
