Doric Quartet will conclude their visit to the Festival with Mozart’s penultimate quartet, part of an uncompleted set he wrote on commission from the cello-playing King Friedrich Wilhelm II of Prussia. Shostakovich's Cello Sonata has been replaced by Schumann's marvellous Phantasiestucke. Brett Dean’s Imaginary Ballet is a Festival co-commission shared with Storioni Festival, Festival o/modernt in Sweden, Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival and the Seraphim Trio. The work is sub-titled Dances and Interludes for piano and string trio.

Admission: €45/€35/€25

This concert will be broadcast live on RTÉ Lyric fm and around the world via the European Broadcasting Union as part of their Euroradio Summer Festival Series, presented by Paul Herriott.

Please note there is a change in the programme from the printed brochure. Sadly due to events beyond our control, Johannes Moser has withdrawn from the festival. Shostakovich Cello Sonata has been replaced by Schumann’s Phantasiestucke played by Dana Zemtsov and Anna Fedorova. And John Myerscough has kindly agreed to step in a short notice to play Imaginary Ballet.
