Friday 11 June to Friday 16 July 2021
Please note that participants must be aged between 14 and 17 at the time of the workshop.
Designed to build the creative confidence and expressive ability of teenagers with an interest in writing it combines a high-energy workshop approach with talks and Q&A sessions on being a writer in the contemporary world where multimedia technologies and performance writing are assuming more importance alongside traditional book publishing. As well as covering traditional forms like poem, story and song, Words Allowed introduces participants to the essentials of Youtubeing & online video production. In an atmosphere of group support and encouragement for individual creativity, each participant will be facilitated in pursuing their own writing interests and in generating new work.
This workshop is led by fabulous authors and facilitators Dave Lordan and E.R. Murray. Together they will help participants explore and enjoy their creative imaginations over six intense, fun, inclusive and inspirational sessions. The workshop is open to young people of all backgrounds, identities and abilities. Dave and Elizabeth are both very experienced in working with young people with special needs.
