José studied music at University of Mainz. During that time he discovered his predilection for chamber music. He received first prize at the Westphalian Music Festival, the Johannes Gutenberg prize, first prize at the international Piano Contest in Cantù, first prize with cellist Sung Hyun-Jun and the prize of the international press jury in Trapani. Festival appearances include the Festival of Chamber Music in Lockenhaus, the Festival of Asiago, “Music of the World” Festival in Pforzheim, Cello Festival in Kronberg, Castle Festival in Zwingenberg, Days of Culture in Appenau, “Sandstone and Music” in Dresden, Ludwigsburg Castle Festival, and Rheingau Musical Festival. In chamber music José Gallardo collaborated with Alberto Lysy, Natascha Korsakova, Friedemann Eichhorn, Julius Berger, and Martin Dobner. He gave concerts in domestic music halls and the US and Europe amongst these are the Tonhalle, Zurich, the Musikhalle, Hamburg, the Kurhaus, Wiesbaden, the Teatro della Pergola and the Wigmore Hall.
