BlowInk are a group of immigrant writers based in and around Clonakilty. The group arose out of an initiative from Cork County Library and Arts Service which funded a series of Creative Writing workshops in Clonakilty Library, led by Matthew Geden. Participants came from Spain, France, Pakistan, Poland, Israel and the Ukraine so the group spent time translating, sharing and writing new work in both English and their mother tongues. In December the group published their first zine based around a writing prompt on a gift. A new zine using shelter as its central theme will be launched in Bantry at this event. The zines contain work in several languages, with English versions, and are illustrated by the writers themselves.
