Inspired by the beautiful painting by Seán Keating on the front of our brochure, by the rise in Silent Book Clubs and by the need to just take a little time away from our phones and other distractions, we’re setting up a daily Quiet Reading Hour as part of this year’s festival.
We’re dedicating the library space on the first floor of the Maritime Hotel to the art of quiet reading for one hour every day (Saturday to Friday). Feel free to grab a coffee and pop along with your favourite book or whatever you are reading.
We ask that you respect the peace and quiet of fellow readers during the dedicated hour. And after that you’re very welcome to chat to one another about what you’re reading and to swap book ideas (and even books)
