Flavia Camejo

Genres: Non-Fiction

Flavia Camejo spent her childhood in the northern Venezuelan city of Coro and moved to the city of Maracaibo after school to work as a journalist. She wrote for one of the country’s national newspapers before deciding to travel and spend some time improving her English. She arrived in Dublin in 2014 and has watched from afar in recent years has her home country has descended into chaos. In 2017 her parents and sister fled Venezuela and moved to Parma and Italy, the home of her grandmother. Flavia now lives in Dublin with her boyfriend and works as a team lead with the Cpl Solutions tech company. She was interviewed by Sorcha Pollak for her book New to the Parish: Stories of Love, War and Adventure from Ireland’s Immigrants.
