What We Do

West Cork Music was established in 1995 and has grown from a small voluntary organisation to a non-profit arts-focused company which is dedicated to bringing the highest calibre of musical & literary experience to the west of Ireland.

We promote the annual 10-day West Cork Chamber Music Festival, which has become one of the leading chamber music events in Europe, attracting local, national and international audiences alike.

We also organise the 8-day West Cork LiteraryFestival and 5-day Masters of Tradition – a celebration of traditional music at its finest.

Outside of our festival-filled summer season, our Concert Series is expanding across the year . Our Bantry concerts, in St. Brendan’s Church, feature Irish and international soloists and ensembles, as well as exceptional Irish singer-songwriters. West Cork Music is committed to presenting performances of the finest music all year round, and has exciting plans to create its own venue to host them.

West Cork Music also promotes Education activities in a variety of ways, including: as part of our Festivals; through the music-in-schools programme, Tuning Up; through READ ON, and; weekend traditional music and literary retreats.

Our commitment to excellence and distinctive West Cork identity have secured us special place in the Irish cultural landscape.
