Originally built in the 16th Century by the powerful princes of Liechtenstein, it was rebuilt in the Classical style 200 years later. The Palace has housed several institutions, including the post office, the Austrian military and the Communist Party Political School, before being acquired by the Academy of Musical Arts. The Palace is now devoted to showcasing culture and performances take place is the elegant Martinů Hall.
