Young Musician Donation €250

For 30 years West Cork Music has been able to invest in younger generations of musicians in Ireland, thanks to the support of generous donors.

Exceptional young musicians are invited to the Chamber Music Festival to participate in masterclasses with visiting artists and world-renowned tutors.

‘It was when I was there myself and with my peers that it really changed my life’ – Sinéad O’Halloran, Marmen Quartet

Building their skills and taking advantage of unique performance and networking opportunities helps broaden their horizons and support their efforts to develop careers on the world stage.

Previous masterclass participants now making their mark as professional musicians all across the world include Mairéad Hickey, Sinéad O’Halloran, and Séamus Hickey.

‘The masterclass programme has a huge impact on us as an ensemble and individually, because we’re playing for so many different artists with loads of ideas, and we just get them all.’ – Julieanne Forrest, Masterclass student 2022/23

‘If you look around at the orchestras in Ireland and abroad, many of the young musicians who’ve been in Bantry enjoy really good careers…What they’ve seen here has inspired them.’ – Christopher Marwood, National String Quartet Foundation

Your support for the West Cork Music young musicians programme will enable us to invest in the future of top-quality classical music in Ireland for the benefit of emerging artists and their appreciative audiences.
