It is with great shock and sadness that we share the news of the passing of Councillor Patrick Gerard Murphy, a great friend and Board Member of West Cork Music.

A proud Beara man, Patrick made Ballylickey and Bantry his home, working tirelessly to advance projects across every part of our community, including our own plans to create an accessible arts venue and education hub.

His passion for enabling everyone to access and participate in thriving communities drove so much of his work, and he leaves a lasting legacy across West Cork after a lifetime of dedicated public service.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
