Bring a notebook, pens and pencils, and your imagination to the island!

If you have any objects that conjure memories of the sea, please bring them along too (e.g. beachcombed objects, pebbles, postcards, photographs, poems). During this immersive workshop, you will undertake writing exercises, with Helen’s guidance, and have an opportunity to develop a new piece of writing, stimulated by your island encouters.

Helen’s latest book What the Wild Sea Can Be: The Future of the World’s Ocean has been longlisted for both the Baillie Gifford Prize for non-fiction and the Women’s Prize for non-fiction.

Note: The ticket price includes the daily ferry to and from Whiddy Island. This ferry departs from, and returns to Bantry Pier. This island-based travel workshop will run from Wednesday 16 to Friday 18 July, from 9.30am to 2.30pm each day with two breaks built into the day.
