23. Coffee Concert

Sonoro Quartet is fresh from their Rising Stars Tour of most of the leading concert halls in Europe, you name it, they played there. There is Irish interest in Sonoro as Cork violist, Seamus Hickey, is a founder member of the Quartet. Holding together a young Quartet is tricky as the competition is intense, but more and more young musicians are attracted to the intense pleasures of quartet music. This year the Festival has created an Emerging Quartet space for a young professional Quartet, like the Sonoros, still open to receiving a few high-level masterclasses as well as playing in the main programme.
