Genres: Environment | Interviewer | West Cork

Samuel Arnold Keane is a forager and multidisciplinary artist… merging various art forms to tell the stories of the seaweeds, coasts and streets he gathers, wades and walks… At the essence of his creative practice is a passion for the natural world, to share this with others through image, performance, song and word.

Samuel has written and illustrated foraging booklets, Where Seaweed Dances (2021), Urban Forager (2018), skate + forage (commissioned by IMMA 2025) and forage + light / seilg agus solas (commissioned by Mermaid Arts Centre 2026). He has written pieces for various publications (Guzzle Magazine, Sasstenance), exhibited work in various galleries in France and Ireland, created pieces for IMMA Earth Rising Festival, Galway Theatre Festival and Shifting Tides Project… Samuel is currently working on a project with Creative Places West Cork Islands, exploring the past and potential practice of foraging with island communities into an artist book.
