Rebecca Braun is Established Professor of German and World Literature at the University of Galway, Ireland, where she is also currently Executive Dean of the College of Arts, Social Sciences & Celtic Studies. An expert on the production and reception of literature, she has worked extensively with contemporary writers across the publishing chain. Her many academic publications include Authors and the World: Literary Authorship in Modern Germany (2022), World Authorship (co-edited with Tobias Boes and Emily Spiers; Oxford University Press, 2020) and Transnational German Studies (co-edited with Benedict Schofield; Liverpool University Press, 2020). Ulrike Draesner’s Channel Swimmer is her third book-length translation and her English-language translation was published by Upper West Side Philosophers, Inc in August 2025.
