Orlaith Horan

Orlaith Horan is a recent graduate from MTU Cork School of Music where she achieved First Class Honours studying under the guidance of Mary MacSweeney. A previous prize-winner at Feis Maitiu Cork & Sligo Feis Ceoil, Orlaith also received a Donal Doc Gleeson Award in UCC. In 2023, she won the Capuchin Award and €2500 bursary from Feis Maitiu and was a finalist in the MTU CSM Advanced Recital Competition.
Orlaith was a soloist with the MTU CSM Opera Platform for many years studying various operatic roles. She has regularly performed with the East Cork Choral Society. Previous performances include Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate and Vespers, Vaughan Williams Serenade, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio and Samson and most recently, Handels Messiah.
Orlaith is delighted to join the West Cork Choral Singers as a soloist again. Some previous performances with this ensemble include Fauré’s Requiem, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas and Mozart’s Vespers.
