Jeremie Legrand

Instruments: Makers | Violin Makers

Jeremie  Legrand is a luthier specialising in the making of violins, violas, and cellos. He currently works between London and France.

Jeremie began studying the violin at a young age and has remained an active player ever since. At the age of 15, he entered the National School of Violin Making in Mirecourt , France.  After five years he graduated in 1995.

He continued his professional development working with both Irish and Parisian luthiers in Paris. In 1997, he moved to Cork, Ireland, where he established his own workshop and worked successfully for over 20 years.

Over the course of his career, Jeremie has built close professional relationships with leading international musicians, including Stephanie Gonley, Ofer Falk (leaders of the English Chamber Orchestra), members of the RTE Vanbrugh Quartet, soloist Harriett Mackenzie, and Nigel Kennedy. These collaborations have given him a deep understanding of the individual artistic and technical needs of professional musicians.

He is currently working on several prestigious commissions, including instruments for Katherin Hunka (leader of the Irish Chamber Orchestra), Laure Chan, Jeremy Isaacs of the Tippett Quartet, as well as members of the London Symphony Orchestra.
