Ian Knepper is originally from the United States, now based in Cork City, Ireland, where he has lived for the past 19 years. He studied at the renowned Newark School of Violin Making in the UK and has over 16 years of experience making violins, violas and cellos.
Deeply influenced by the Cremonese and Brescian traditions of Italian violin making, Ian places great emphasis on tonal depth and balance. Each instrument is carefully crafted to produce a rich, responsive, sustained sound that supports the needs of professional musicians.
His violins are played in leading ensembles, including the Irish, Scottish, and English Chamber Orchestras.
