Gheorghe Palcu

Romanian bass baritone Gheorghe Palcu was recognised at a young age for his musical talent. He graduated from the Music Conservatoire “Jacopo Tomadini” Udine, (Italy) in singing performance and vocal chamber music and studied in masterclasses with Teresa Berganza, Grace Bumbry, Janet Williams, Viorica Cortez, Leontina Vaduva and others.

Gheorghe is now living in Cork ( Ireland) and he recently graduated from Cork School of Music with the first class honorous in his Masters of Performance. He performs regularly with the East Cork Choral Society and previously joined the West Cork Choral Singers in a performance of Mozart Vespers of the Confessor. He also continues to pursue his career in Opera at home and abroad.

His recent operatic repertoire highlight include, the title role of Don Pasqule, Neimenster- Luxemburg, under Camilla Rossetti(conductor) and Caterina Ponti Liberovici (director), Pallante /Agrippina, Jackson Lane Theatre -London, under Thomas Payne (conductor) Ashley Pearson(director) and Argante (Rinaldo) under Sandrah Silvio (conductor and director). He also performs regularly a member of the UK Ensemble OrQuesta, performing roles under Marcio da Silva such as Hidraot and Ubalde /Armida.
