West Cork–based writer E. R. Murray works across multiple genres for children, young adults, and adults. Her latest book, Arabella Pepper: The Wild Detective (Natural World Publishing), was longlisted for the 2025 Wainwright Prize for Children’s Fiction. Her previous books include Caramel Hearts (Alma Books) and the award‑winning Nine Lives Trilogy (Mercier Press): The Book of Learning (Dublin UNESCO Citywide Read 2016), The Book of Shadows (shortlisted for the Irish Literacy Association Award and the Irish Book Awards), and The Book of Revenge.

Her recent anthology and journal publications include I See the Moon and the Moon Sees Me (O’Brien Press), I Am the Wind (Little Island), Wild Wonders (Natural World Publishing), Women on Nature (Unbound Press), as well as work in Mslexia, Trasna, Waxed Lemon, Popshots, Banshee, Terrain, Not Very Quiet, Ropes, and Channel Magazine.

Elizabeth is also an experienced event facilitator, delivering hundreds of creative writing and book‑related events each year. She works with festivals, arts centres, schools, and libraries to foster a love of creativity and reading, and is part of a team of professional artists working in day centres and community hospitals with Arts for Health West Cork.
