Daniel Luke Smith is pianist, composer, producer and educator hailing from Cabra, Dublin. In 2023 he released his debut album Shadow Dance, a collection of solo piano works. Since the release Daniel has completed a Masters in Composition for Film and TV and has worked on a number of short films and screen projects working with orchestra and ensembles. In 2025 Daniel released My Father’s Son, a critically acclaimed piece for piano and cello. This release began his continued collaboration with cellist Lizzi Murtough. In 2026, Daniel spent a week in the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, finalising the compositions for his latest solo piano offering, a set of piano etudes. The Etudes intend to develop areas of his technique, compositions and pedagogy, as well as being standalone pieces to enjoy. Daniel’s music blends years of classical training with contemporary, jazz, and neoclassical influences. Through his compositions and collaborations, Daniel is crafting a unique and captivating soundworld.
