Clíodhna Ní Aodáin

Clíodhna Ní Aodáin is an Irish cellist, composer, conductor, and teacher based in Bern. Classically trained in Dublin, Vienna, Manchester, Montréal, and Zurich, she combines a strong technical foundation with the expressive depth of Irish and Scottish musical traditions. Her artistic practice bridges performance, improvisation, and storytelling, creating sound worlds that are both rooted and contemporary.

Founder of The Celtic Cello, she develops projects that explore the voice of the cello within traditional and modern contexts. She teaches at the Musikschule Konservatorium Bern and conducts the Orchester Divertimento Bern as well as the children’s orchestra Die Tigerbande, fostering creativity and ensemble spirit across generations.

Clíodhna’s mission is to bring joy, connection, and a sense of healing through live music, creating meaningful shared experiences where audiences and musicians feel deeply present and inspired.
