Paul Herriott is best known as a broadcaster on RTÉ Lyric FM, for programmes including The Blue of the Night, In Tempo The Lyric Concert (New York Festival Award Winner), ‘Composing the Island’ (Celtic Media Award) and RTE Lyric Live from NCH Dublin. Paul has presented numerous live concerts and festivals throughout Ireland and Europe (through the EBU), including The WCCMF, BBC Proms, Prague Spring Festival, Belfast Festival, and the Killaloe Music Festival. He has presented several seasons of Wexford Festival Opera for RTE and the EBU, and several Dublin International Piano Competition Finals for Radio, and the Live stream of RTE Culture. Paul has presented The Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year, for several years, as well as New Music Dublin, and Composer Lab from the NCH. Paul has presented ,’The NSO Live’ on RTE One Television.
He has written and presented the features ‘Art thou Troubled’ , ‘Bailero’ and ‘Notes from the Fire’. He has presented Opening Nights (the first all Ireland arts television sequence) on RTÉ/UTV, and for BBC Radio 5, ‘The Other Side of Midnight’, ‘A Game of Two Halves’ and on ‘Loose Ends’, for BBC Radio 4.
