John Fitzgerald

John FitzGerald has published six books of poetry including Long Distance (2024), The Time Being (2021), and a translation to English of the eighteenth-century Irish poem Caoineadh Airt Uí Laoghaire, The Lament for Art O’Leary (2023) with The Gallery Press. He has also published two letterpress editions with The Salvage Press, Haiku na Feirme (2022) and Darklight (2019). He has won the Patrick Kavanagh Poetry Prize and the Atlantic Currents Prize and The Time Being was shortlisted for the Seamus Heaney Prize in 2022.  He is currently Adjunct Professor at the School of English, UCC.
