Leonie Bluett

Instruments: Chamber Ensembles & Orchestras | Clarinet | Wind

Leonie graduated from the Royal Irish Academy of Music, followed by a MA in music performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London, where she was the winner of the Buffet Crampon Clarinet Prize in her final year. She also received funding from the Flax Trust Bursary and the Fund of France at the Clandeboye music festival which allowed her to attend masterclasses abroad during the summers.

Always having a keen interest in new music, during her time studying in Dublin Leonie was one of the first members of the Kirkos Ensemble. She has performed for the Irish Composers Collective series and has also forayed into the world of composing – an audiovisual piece she created was featured at a Kaleidoscope concert as well as at an event in the Contemporary Music Centre and some of her electronic pieces were performed at various events during her time in London.

Leonie has performed with the RTE Concert Orchestra, Camerata Ireland, Britten-Pears Orchestra, Wide Open Opera, Lismore Opera, among others. She also enjoys playing in chamber groups across different genres and collaborating with artists and performers of different disciplines.
