This historical vault is under a Roman wall tower in Köln and is a marvellously preserved, acoustically magnificent venue for chamber music. It was donated to the Clarissen order at the beginning of the 14th Century and for 500 years was the most distinguished convent in the city. The vault is the only part of the convent to survive the dissolution of the monastery in 1803 – the buildings above were rebuilt into a classical palace – and is a perfect venue for Chamber Music.
