Siobhan Dempsey

Genres: Irish Writing | Short Stories

Siobhan Dempsey is not a writer, she is a play therapist, but therapy is fundamentally about stories. She joined a writer’s group over covid to preserve her sanity, which worked for the most part. A consequence of joining a writer’s group is the expectation that you will write stuff and then show other people. Siobhan discovered that she doesn’t like rejection. She likes writing poetry and short stories. She was shortlisted for the 2024 From the Well short story award, organised by Cork County Council Library and Arts Service, and her story was published in the annual anthology.
