Emily Cooper is a poet and writer based in Donegal. Her poetry and prose has been published in The Stinging Fly, Banshee, Winter Papers and London Magazine, among others. A 2019 recipient of the Arts Council Next Generation Award, Emily’s poetry debut, Glass, was published by Makina Books in 2021. She is also co-founder and an editor for The Pig’s Back literary journal. She has read at the Hedge School Hotel Doolin; Bray Literature Festival; International Literary Festival Dublin (Stinging Fly); Verbal Arts Centre, Derry; Blue Stacks Festival; MoLI; West Cork Literary Festival; Writing Home: The London Series, London Irish Centre; Seven Responses at the MAC, Belfast; Belfast Book Festival; International Literature Festival Dublin (Poetry Ireland Introductions); Hillsborough Festival of Literature and Ideas (Poetry Ireland Introductions) and Greywood Arts, East Cork. Emily’s latest collection of poetry The Conversation is a collaborative poetry collection with Jo Burns.
