Eero Haahti (*16.12.1961)
– started studying cello playing at the age of five with Arto Noras
– 1977 made his first instrument – a cello – with the help of some books
– 1982-83 apprentice at Risto Vainio workshop in Helsinki
– fall 1983 at the Newark School of Violinmaking
– 1984-86 own workshop in Antwerp – Belgium
– 1987-89 apprenticeship at atelier Vatelot in Paris
– 1990-1993 own workshop outside Paris
– since 1994 own workshop in Helsinki
– during and after the covid working roughly half the time on new instruments and bows outside Finland and half for musicians, foundations and orchestras in Europe, mostly in Finland and Scandinavia.

Main professional activities:
Working for clients on sound adjustment, playability and restoration related to violin family instruments and their bows.
Making new violins, violas, cellos, their bows, and some other instruments on occasion.
