David Nicholls’ previous five novels – Starter for Ten, The Understudy, One Day, Us and Sweet Sorrow – have all been published in the UK by Hodder & Stoughton. David moved to Hodder’s literary imprint, Sceptre, for the publication of his new novel, You Are Here, which is published in April 2024.

 

David is one of the UK’s most talented and sought-after screenwriters. His first screenwriting break came when he wrote for the third series of Cold Feet and highlights since then have included adaptations of Far from the Madding Crowd, When Did You Last See Your Father? and Great Expectations, as well as of his own novels, Starter for Ten, One Day and Us. His adaptation of Edward St Aubyn’s Patrick Melrose, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, was nominated for an Emmy and won him a BAFTA for best writer. The new miniseries adaptation of his novel One Day was released on Netflix in February 2024.
