Charlotte Norholt

Charlotte Norholt is known as a flautist who performs in diverse contexts and effortlessly switches between genres and works. In addition to Ensemble MidtVest, Charlotte is a member of Århus Sinfonietta, and Århus Bachselskab. She is a frequent guest solo flutist in among others, Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and Luzern Symphony Orchestra. She has previously been employed as solo flutist in the Århus Symphony Orchestra, Copenhagen Phil and Randers Chamber Orchestra.

Charlotte has won prizes at Carl Nielsen’s International Flute Competition, Internationalen Kuhlau Competition, and AUT’s New Music Competition, and has performed in concert halls across Europe, the USA and South America.

In addition to being a flutist, Charlotte Norholt is a yoga teacher, and she often combines the two branches by combining yoga classes with live music, using mindfulness in concerts, or doing meditation sessions with improvised music.

She graduated from the Jutland Music Conservatory’s soloist class in 2000, with subsequent studies in Paris with solo flutist Claude Lefebvre. In addition, masterclasses with Patrick Gallois, Philippe Bernold, Andreas Blau and Jana Semerádová.
