Tiffin Boys Choir

Instruments: Vocalists

Since its foundation in 1957, Tiffin Boys’ Choir has been one of the few state school choirs to have been continually at the forefront of the choral music scene in Britain. The choir has worked with all the London orchestras and performs regularly with Royal Opera.

Recent engagements have included La Boheme (English National Opera), Music With Changing Parts (Philip Glass Ensemble); Springtime in Funen at the BBC Proms; Mahler 8 (Philharmonia/Salonen); the UK premiere of Unsuk Chin’s Alice in Wonderland; and Britten, Spring Symphony (London Symphony Orchestra/Rattle). The choir recorded the soundtrack for The Hobbit, appeared on set in the films Philomena, Last Christmas and The Batman, and performed in Titanic Live! with James Horner. The Choir also features on Madonna’s 2019 album, Madame X.

Tiffin School is a boys’ state grammar school in Kingston-upon-Thames with a mixed Sixth Form. The majority of the 1200 pupils in the school play a musical instrument, and 100 pupils study Music at GCSE and A Level. With altos, tenors and basses also drawn entirely from within the school, the Choir gives regular concerts in London and tours globally.
