Leah Mullen (b.2000) is a composer, vocalist, and scholar from Oswego, NY, USA, currently based in Dublin, Ireland. Leah is a current postgraduate student at University College Dublin pursuing a master’s in Music and Culture. Leah is a recent graduate from Penn State where she earned Bachelor of Music in music composition, minor in German, and diversity studies certificate, and studied with Dr. Baljinder Sekhon and Dr. Sarah Genevive Burghart Rice. Leah has experience writing for a variety of instrumentations, including electronics. Recently, her compositions and research are centered around intersectional feminist philosophy, the wilderness, and interpersonal performer relationships. Leah’s works have been performed across the United States and Europe. Leah has been commissioned by Chelsea Opera, The Pennsylvania State University Concert Choir, Daniel Burdick, Frederick Miller, and Joshua Benitez. Other ensembles Leah has composed for include: loadbang, Transient Canvas, Duo Zonda, HUB New Music, and Corvus.
