Darina Allen is co-founder of the famous Ballymaloe Cookery School, biodiverse organic farm, gardens and greenhouses in Shanagarry, East Cork.  The Ballymaloe Cookery School was established in 1983 and students come from all over the world to hone their culinary skills at this sustainable, Farm-to-Table project. She is a founder member of the Irish Farmers’ Market Movement, East Cork Slow Food Convivia Leader, Chair of Artisan Food Forum and a Farming for Nature Ambassador.  She writes a weekly food column in the Weekend Section of the Irish Examiner and is the author of 20 cookbooks.
