Niall Tormey

Niall Tormey is an Irish composer based in Westmeath. His music has been performed across Ireland as well as overseas. He holds a BMus and a Masters in Composition from Maynooth University. He was the winner of the inaugural Irish Heritage Music Bursary for Composition in 2019 with his piece ‘Give Me Your Hand and Come What May’ for Harp and Flute, and winner of the 2020 West Cork Chamber Music Festival Composition Competition for his piece ‘Kreatura’ for string quartet. In addition to awards in art music he has made his first foray into film music, composing the score for the Craig Moore short Three Brothers Two, for which he has won, and been nominated for, multiple awards.
