Jo Unwin

Genres: Agent | Professional Development

Jo Unwin runs JULA – a dynamic literary agency that represents bestselling and debut authors. Prior to becoming an agent, Jo had a career as an actress and television script writer (writing credits include Byker Grove and My Parents are Aliens).  Her move into publishing started with a stint as a book scout for Aardman animated features, moving on to become a bookseller, and finally becoming a Literary Agent in 2008.  Within three years of coming into the industry she was nominated as a Bookseller Rising Star and shortlisted as Literary Agent of the Year. In 2013, she set up her own agency, and as the agency has grown, she’s been joined by Milly Reilly, who represents non-fiction, and Rachel Mann who specialises in books for children. Jo’s authors include Nina Stibbe, Jenny Colgan, Candice Carty-Williams, Richard Ayoade, Charlie Brooker, and Kit de Waal.
