Emmanuel Carlier

Instruments: Bow Makers | Makers

Emmanuel Carlier was born in 1975 near Paris. After history studies, a violin making apprenticeship and few years of journalism, it was his meeting with bows that proves decisive. He trained at Tours with Gilles Duhaut, then he joined the Bernard House in Brussels where he developped his taste for antique bows and he specialized in restoration with Pierre Guillaume. In 2010, he moved to Paris. The following year, he received a grant from the Marcel Vatelot Fondation to support the development of his workshop. In 2013, he admitted as resident for one year of the French Academy in Rome, Villa Medici.
