Sarah Byrne

Sarah Byrne was born in Cork in 1984. She worked in fashion retail and floristry before working in the criminal justice system for nearly a decade. She holds a B.A. in Sociology & German from  Trinity College Dublin, a Masters in Criminology from the University of Cambridge, and a Masters in Creative Writing from the University of Oxford. She also holds professional qualifications in forensic medicine, restorative justice, and arts management. A first-generation college graduate, Sarah is passionate about improving access and opportunity to education and the arts, especially to those who have experienced incarceration. She has received awards for her writing & outreach from The Arts Council of Ireland, Cork County Council, Cork City Council and Dublin UNESCO City of Literature. She is the founding editor of The Well Review.
