Caitríona O’Mahony

Instruments: Strings | Violin

Hailing from Cork, Ireland, Caitríona graduated in 2014 with a First Class Honours BMus from the Cork School of Music, where she studied with Ruxandra Colan-Petcu, Marja Gaynor and Simon Aspell. She is currently studying baroque violin in the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague under the tutelage of Walter Reiter and Kati Debretzeni.

Caitríona has had the pleasure of playing with baroque orchestras including Camerata Kilkenny, Cork Baroque Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Eighteenth Century (student scheme). With a particular passion for chamber music, she has won first prizes in both the Vanbrugh Quartet Chamber Music Competition and the East Cork Early Music Young Ensembles Competition, and was also awarded scholarships to play with the Dartington Baroque Orchestra in 2014, and the Nordic Baroque Orchestra in 2015. Caitríona has regularly performed with Ensemble Dagda at the West Cork Chamber Music Festival.
