Formed in September 2018, the Vanir quartet are studying with the guidance of Simon Aspell and Christopher Marwood at the CIT Cork School of Music. Aged between 18 and 24, the quartet’s members are great lovers of chamber music.

Molly O’Shea studied with Marc Danel in Belgium for 3 years, completing her Masters in 2018. She is now a student of Elizabeth Charleson at CIT CSM.

Caoimhe Browne is a student of Gregory Ellis and spent last year studying with Gilles Millet in Belgium. She is currently a section leader in the CSM symphony orchestra.

Kerry-native Cian Mac Garry is studying viola with Simon Aspell at CIT CSM. He has been generously loaned a Bertrand Galen Viola and a Robert Pierce bow for the duration of his studies.

Zoë Nagle is currently studying with Christopher Marwood at the CIT CSM and is a former section leader of the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland.

The quartet will give its debut performance in March 2019, as part of the Crawford Gallery ‘Music at Midday’ series. They will also be performing at the Triskel Arts Centre in May as part of the National String Quartet Foundation’s Spring Series.
