Kerstin Dill [violin]

Born in Stuttgart, Kerstin Dill studied with Prof. Ida Bieler (Düsseldorf) and Prof. Günter Pichler (Madrid) and was taught both by the Alban Berg Quartet (Köln) and the Artemis Quartett (Berlin).

She has received awards from institutions and competitions including the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben Hamburg, Deutscher Musikwettbewerb, Premio Paolo Borciani (Italien), the London International String Quartet Competition, Int. Kammermusikwettbewerb Hamburg.

As the lead violinist of Signum Quartet (2002-2015) she was a BBC New Generation Artist and was selected for the  Bayer Kultur stART-Programm.

Her discography, testament to her stylistic scope, comprises of Schubert, Bartok and Debussy as well as works by L. Thuille, W. Rhim and C. Orff.

Her chamber music partners include J. and C. Widmann, L. Fleisher, N. Mönkemeyer, N. Altstaedt, I. Levit and K. Armstrong. In 2018 she was a visiting teacher of chamber music at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz in Cologne.
