Established in late 2017, Westland Baroque gave their first public performance in Co. Dublin the following June. The ensemble comprises four musicians, all of whom are students at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

Ahead of their appearance at the 2018 West Cork Chamber Music Festival, the group received coaching from the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s Aoife Nic Athlaoich and from Dr David Adams, head of early music studies at RIAM. Following Masterclasses in Bantry with Peter Spissky and Marcus Mohlin of the Camerata Øresund, Westland Baroque gave a town concert in St Brendan’s Hall.

From 2019 their tutor has been Irish Baroque Orchestra leader Claire Duff, under whose guidance they will be competing in the Chamber Music Cup at the Dublin Feis Ceoil.
