Beckett Quartet

Formed under the guidance of Christopher Marwood, this will be the Beckett Quartet’s debut performance.

Violinist Richard Thomas studies with Jan Repko at the Royal College of Music in London. He is the 2017 Irish Freemason’s Young Musician of the Year and plays a Nicolo Gagliano violin on loan from Florian Leonhardt.

Claire Austen studied with Young European Strings and now with Fionnuala Hunt at the Royal Irish Academy of Music where she leads two RIAM orchestras. She made her solo debut in Carnegie Hall in 2016.

Fiachra de hOra won all Junior Competitions in Feis Ceoil for viola and is the first violist to win the National Concert Hall Young Musician’s Award.

Cormac Ó Briain studied with Christopher Marwood at the CIT Cork School of Music and is currently a student of Prof Jelena Ocic in Amsterdam. He won prizes at Feis Ceoil, Sligo Feis Ceoil and Feis Maitiu Corcaigh and was a finalist at the 2017 Irish Freemasons Young Musician Competition.
