100 Years of Cork County Library Service

Cork County Library Service marks its 100th anniversary in 2026.

Over the past one hundred years, the service has become an integral part of towns and communities with twenty-five branch libraries and four mobile libraries across the county. The Cork County Library Service, and Bantry Library in particular, have been cherished partners of West Cork Literary Festival since our first festival in 2000.

Join us for a discussion with Patrick Holloway, Leeanne O’Donnell, members of Writers Block, the new panel of Cork County Council writers-in-residence. Together, they will explore the importance of libraries and what their local library has meant to them. This will also be an opportunity to discover all that libraries have to offer. Patrick and Leanne will be in conversation with Jackie Lynam.
