Treske Quartet was founded for a chamber music course in North Yorkshire five years ago and the four musicians now combine focused quartet activity with individual freelancing. Currently they are on the RNCM Studio programme and Richard Ireland’s Chamber Studio at King’s Place, London; they also studied at the celebrated Banff Centre in Canada They are introducing themselves to Bantry audiences with two familiar works. Mozart’s Hunt Quartet is the fourth in his famous series of Six for Papa Haydn. The heart of this cheerful quartet is the majestic Adagio that inhabits a new emotional world that anticipates some of the great arias of the operas. Dvořák’s American Quartet is an all-time favourite with audiences - and viola players for reasons that become immediately obvious.
