12. Talking Music

Each weekday morning during the Festival the well-known musical commentator, Seán Rafferty, hosts our Talking Music conversations.

Over coffee, before the day’s Coffee Concert, he initiates a series of fascinating discussions about music and music-making, and the first of our Talking Music events finds Seán in conversation with the Calidore Quartet.

The Quartet’s members have crossed the pond to play at a number of European Festivals. They are also celebrating the recent release of their complete recordings of the Beethoven quartets. This talk will be an opportunity to hear what it takes to become a major international string quartet.

The conversation will take place in the friendly setting of Bantry’s Brick Oven.
