To end our Mostly Beethoven Day the great Hungarian pianist, Dénes Várjon, returns to Bantry with the stupendous Grosse Sonate für das Hammer-Klavier. Beethoven intended this Sonata to be grander, more elaborate and more imposing than any previous sonata, bar none. He succeeded.
