West Cork Music congratulates Shona McCarthy, appointed as new Arts Council Director.
Last week it was announced, the Arts Council has appointed Shona McCarthy as the new Director.
The Arts Council makes all the Festivals and events produced by West Cork Music possible. It is a highly valued supporter of the work we do, and the work of arts events and practitioners all over the country.
Shona McCarthy has had an impressive career as Chief Executive of the Edinburgh Fringe Society and Chair of the International Fund for Ireland, among many other appointments in the arts and cultural sector.
Chair of the Arts Council, Maura McGrath, and Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan, are positive about the new appointment, citing her commitment to the arts and the calibre of her work and experience.
West Cork Music has worked closely with the Arts Council for thirty years and look forward to continuing that relationship under the directorship of Shona McCarthy.
