2019 Literary Festival Programme

We are delighted to be able to announce that booking will open for the 2019 West Cork Literary Festival on Wednesday 17 April. This year, the Festival runs from 12 – 19 July 2019.

You can book online here or by ringing +353 (0) 27 52788. If you are in the area, you might like to pop into the Festival office at 13 Glengarriff Road, Bantry, Co. Cork.

Graham Norton, Mary Robinson, Joseph O’Connor, John Boyne, Sebastian Barry, Sarah Crossan, Kevin Barry, Sarah Moss, Anne Carson and Kit de Waal are just some of the high profile writers making the trip to West Cork for the Festival.

In a week packed with readings, workshops, interviews, seminars and children’s events, audience members can also:

  • Dip into Bantry Bay at the Festival  Swim
  • Try yoga on the lawns of Bantry House
  • Take a Travel Writing workshop on Whiddy Island
  • Discover the history of Whiddy Island through a talk and guided walk
  • Create your own folded book in a Bookbinding 101 workshop
  • Call into the West Cork Letter Cafe to write to a loved one
  • Step back into the early 1800s with historical re-enactors discussing famous local botanist Ellen Hutchins
