Bantry House Library

Bantry House

Bantry House is one of the finest historic houses in Ireland – beloved by West Cork Music’s audiences as a spellbinding location for exceptional concerts.

Each June and July, the Bantry House library plays host to chamber music performances in the intimate settings for which that music was written as part of the West Cork Chamber Music Festival. Then in August, this gorgeous space thrums with the rhythms of traditional music when the Masters of Tradition festival returns.

Don’t miss the candle-lit concerts in the library, which are a highlight of both festival calendars. Elsewhere around the estate, the wonderful gardens and loggia form the backdrop of conversations, readings, and even yoga as part of the West Cork Literary Festival.

Whichever event you are attending, take time to step outdoors and enjoy glorious views across Bantry Bay as you mingle with your fellow festival-goers.

Bantry House is owned by the Shelswell-White family, descendants of the 1st Earl of Bantry. We are deeply grateful to them for graciously hosting our West Cork Music concerts.

Guided tours of Bantry House are very popular with our festival visitors, and Bantry House garden passes feature in the benefits of the West Cork Music Friends Scheme.
